Cameo Necklace, Clutch Bag, and Pink Nintendo 3DS

Hello everyone!

So sorry for the lack of blogging that I had been doing over the month of December. Exam week had just hit and everyone is so busy cramming and studying for exams, me being no exception. Finally after what seems to be weeks upon weeks of pain and torture, I am now back for the time being. Unfortunately, the spare time only lasts until January, but hopefully I should be able to find some spare time here and there. Blogging is too much fun to have to put off for an extended period of time.

Awhile back before the exams had started, I was shopping around at Ardene and eventually got this cameo necklace after beating around the bush several times.

Of Sparkly Heart Sets and Lovely Bow Creations

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I am currently undergoing what seems to be the busiest part of the school term. Project deadlines are fast approaching, final exams are looming closer, and assignments are just around the corner. Now I currently have enough time to make a short post before getting swamped by yet again the pile of schoolwork. So while I'm still alive here and blogging, let's get straight to the good stuff shall we?

What I had been up to for the past few weeks...

I had gone to Claires earlier around the beginning of November to see what new products they recently have in stock and of course their sale items. I absolutely love their sale items around this particular time of year, where they would usually have an additional 50% off certain clearance items. Now that's a sale!

Surprisingly enough I didn't buy anything on the first visit. I did see this pretty vintage floral cameo-like locket when I was first there, but I passed it off in favour of buying an earmuffs and glove set at Ardene. This was before snow had hit the ground and I had wanted to prepare myself for the upcoming winter. I felt that I could just buy the necklace later, since it isn't really "needed" at the time. I will post a deco post of the earmuffs and gloves hopefully sometimes soon.

Now it was on the second visit where things got a little different. After what seemed like a countless and tedious decision making process on whether or not I should buy the floral cameo locket, I eventually conceded and headed back to Claires to see if it's still there. It wasn't, so I ended up getting this sparkly heart set to make up for the time taken to get to Claires. Of course, being that it's pretty counts too and it's just $5! (It may not show in the pictures but they are really sparkly)

After that, I pretty much didn't buy anything for a while. I however did make some stuff, which are essentially more hime bows! *_* You can't go wrong with having more hime bows, though I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the lolita-like bow. I had originally planned on making it into a hair bow, but it looked a bit awkward while I was positioning it around my head so I decided to use it for something else. Any suggestions?

If you had seen my previous craft post, I had made some hime bows before. They were a lot smaller in comparison to the new ones I had made.

Apparently I had greatly underestimated the actual size of a typical JD hair bow. xD The one on the left is more size accurate, which I was really floored at, considering that I had never thought that their bows would be THAT large (but then again, this is JD we are talking about). For those who want to know the actual size, the dimensions are 19cm W x 7cm H.

Just last night I had finally received the earrings that I got from eBay! I had ordered them a while ago with the cash certificate, which wasn't really that much.

I love them, from the gold border to the curly love handwriting. They were a bit smaller than I had expected, but for around 99 cents and something that I didn't even pay for, I can't really complain.

Until next time!

Jesus Diamante Bow Bag Haul and Short Review

Hello everyone!

One afternoon on what seems to be a peaceful Tuesday, my long-awaited package from Closet Child had finally arrived. After doing the usual procedure of signing my signature and stating my name with the mail person, I immediately closed the door and ran back upstairs to my room, waiting eagerly to get my package opened. Even though I already knew what it was, I was still anxious to see it with my very own eyes. It wasn't until I had fully opened the package that, lo and behold, the Jesus Diamante bag had emerged from the box like a butterfly from its cocoon.

Hello Kitty Calculator and Strapya World Haul

Hello everyone!

This post is going to be a continuation from where I had left off in the previous post. Now usually I would upload my hauls a few days after I get them in the mail, but clearly I underestimate the looming ache in my head known as school. :/ So I figured that while I still have the time, I might as well upload it now. So here goes, starting off with the Hello Kitty calculator!

Warning: Tons of pictures up ahead.

A Failed Bedskirt Hunt and Some Treasures that Followed It...

Hello everyone!

Over the last weekend, I went over to my cousins' house. At the time, I was searching left and right desperately for a bed skirt, since my Hello Kitty flat sheet doesn't exactly cover the bottom part of the mattress where the bed springs are. Of course I'm not just looking for any bed skirt. I'm looking for one that is light pink and ruffled while at the same time being a queen size. Not exactly an easy requirement to fill if you live anywhere outside of Japan. Anyway, I didn't want white because the edges of the flat sheet are white, which will probably blend in with the bed skirt. Now you are probably thinking: "Why don't you buy one from eBay?" The thing is, I would've done exactly just that if I weren't concerned about getting a bed skirt for my bed asap. In addition, I'm a bit worried about the sizing, especially for the type of bed skirts that are just basically gigantic skirts for mattresses bed springs that just only have an elastic waistband with ruffles.

Anyway, my mom suggested that I head over to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to see if I can find a bed skirt over there. I couldn't see why I wouldn't give it a try. I mean, what could be the harm? I had already tried Sears (has ruffles but wrong colour), Wal-mart (no bed skirts at ALL), Home Outfitters (wrong shade of pink and is tailored instead of ruffled), and even Homesense (no pink or ruffled bed skirts). As you can clearly tell, I'm extremely picky with my choices. ^^; Unsurprisingly, I couldn't find a bed skirt that actually manage to meet all of my requirements, but as a semi-consolation prize, my mom got me an small ironing board for $10. I didn't have an ironing board before so it was a nice thing to have. It certainly beats having to get a towel out every time I want to iron something anyway. -.-

Well even though the bed skirt hunt wasn't a success, I still was able to find some lovely goodies out of the trip.

Carole Hochman 2 Piece Pajama Set

Location: Last Chance
Price: Around $9 (40% off of $14.99 CDN)
Thoughts: My mom and my aunt took me to Last Chance before I went off to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which is apparently a thrift store of some sort. Now not being one for thrift stores or rarely ever go to one, I found it to be an interesting experience, especially since my mom had been babbling on about how wonderful this place is regarding their cheap designer pants selection. I actually got a pair of these special cheap designer pants for $3 but didn't have the time to take a picture. Plus, I'm pretty sure that no one would want to read up on boring black pants. xD

Anyway, I also got this cute 2 piece pajama set. I personally find it a good deal, since 2 piece pajama sets like this usually cost around $18 at Walmart. One thing that I had wish I had done was look over the pajama set before I bought it, since there was a little stain on the shirt. :/ None-the-less, it's still a good buy so it doesn't really turn me off from the whole set.

Las Vegas Rhinestone Shirt

My cousin gave me this shirt that she got from Las Vegas once I got back to my cousins' house. At first I thought it was a bit too small until I noticed the "L" on the tag. Epic fail on the size guessing there...

Will continue another time. I'm not even halfway done with all the hauls that I had recently received over the past week.

Arrival of Giveaway Prize

Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of posting going on. As you can clearly tell, school is an extremely time consuming and tedious process. -_- I sometimes wonder why I would usually get excited before school had even started and then get tired of it within weeks. Oh right, the dreaded thing called midterm week has started. You know, that week where you are bombarded with exams left, right, and center when you are least expecting it. @_@ Anyway, I know that school is a necessary evil, so I'm not going to continue bashing on it (seriously, what's the use?) and move onto the prize that I had gotten a week ago, which was last Friday.

Yesstyle Haul

Hello everyone!

Here is the Yesstyle haul that I had promised yesterday to have up as soon as I had gotten the "goods" from my friend. It will be a short one, since I didn't order that much stuff. ^^;

Anyway, I bought about $38 in purchases total, consisting of a hoodie and a skirt.

Once again, Yesstyle's packaging comes individually wrapped in plastic bags. I really love how every article of clothing is neatly folded inside the bags.

Black Lace Trim Hoodie

Front part of hoodie

Lace trim detailing with natural light

Lace trim detailing with flash

Closeup of the zipper

Lace trim detailing on the hood

Price: $16.72 CDN
Thoughts: At first when I saw this hoodie, I knew that I just had to get it and I'm glad that I did. It's black, lacy, and it is a hoodie. The design is also similar to that of JD hoodies. What more could you want? I didn't actually have a black hoodie before now so I figured that now is a good time to get one, especially one that is as cute as this. Anyway, once I received it I was astonished by the amount of detail and materials used. The hoodie itself is like your typical average standard hoodie found in local malls, but a little thicker. The zipper was a little hard to pull down when I first took it out of the plastic bag, but I assumed that's from the hoodie still being new. I really like the detailing of the zipper. They had used a butterfly instead of the common rectangular zipper, which is a very nice touch and it shows that they had really paid attention to their design. As for the lace trim, the lace feels soft like fabric, another nice touch. As you can see in the above pictures, there are three layers of lace, which is very nice. The hood also has a lace lining. One thing that I'm surprised with however is the sizing. It was so snug when I tried it on, which I presume the size to be a bit bigger because of the huge bust size (100cm). I managed to fit in the hoodie though, so it really wasn't much of an issue. Overall, a great price for a great hoodie. ^^

Overall: Cute design, good quality, nice lace, snug sizing

Pink Elastic-Waist Pleated Chiffon Skirt

Ribbon detail

Lace hem

Link: Here
Price: $21.38 CDN
Thoughts: Along with the hoodie, I decided to get a skirt since by that point I was running out of things to get and I needed more skirts anyway. So after what seemed like hours upon hours of straight browsing, I finally found this cute pink skirt and decided to get it. At first I was a little bit skeptical about the sizing and wondering about the fit, since it was a bit on the small size. Turns out that it actually fits me just right, which I'm thankful for. This was my first time ordering a skirt online anywhere. The skirt has a lace and ribbon hem, a very nice addition. What I absolutely love about this skirt, other than the ribbon, lace detailing, and colour, is that it's knee-length. Basically the type of skirt that I have been trying to find for AGES (you wouldn't believe how long it took me to find just one, let alone a few). I say that the only downside to the skirt is that it's a bit pricey for just a skirt. However, it's money that's well worth spent in my opinion.

Overall: Cute design, good quality, lovely detailing such as lace and ribbon, a little bit pricey

Now that's done and over with, I'm going to go sleep, since it's getting late. Until then, take care everyone! :)

Arrival of Bed Set Part 2 and Upcoming Yesstyle Haul

Hello everyone!

Just taking the time out of my hectic and busy life to make a post on the rest of my duvet set along with another haul that I will post later (the previous bed set package can be found here). I was actually suppose to do it yesterday but couldn't because of a small headache.  Those darn headaches... -.- Should try to go to sleep more earlier. All of this tylenol consumption is not good for my health.

Anyway, the package that contained the rest of my bed set came in yesterday. Unfortunately it had already been opened by presumably my mom. :( Oh well. Here are the two pillow cases:

Front

Back

Now that the bet set is finally complete (which I was anxiously waiting for over the weekend), I can finally get this on my bed! Yay! ^o^ I was actually contemplating whether or not I should show you all the new Hello Kitty bed after I put everything into place, but then decided not to until the room tour post that I will do eventually. :) I'm pretty confident that you all can handle a little surprise anyway. ^^;

Now I would usually just stop at there and leave you all for another day, but I figure that now's a better time than ever to talk about the upcoming haul that I did from Yesstyle. A few weeks ago back in late September, my friend convinced me into doing a group order from Yesstyle, since she wanted to use up one of her $10 coupons before it expires and didn't want to spend the whole $150 just to get free shipping. Makes perfect sense right? Right. So after what seems to be hours upon hours of contemplating, deciding, and browsing, I managed to find some things and spent around $30-40. Not bad! :D I won't list what I got here just yet however, since my friend will give me the items tomorrow. Definitely will in the next post however.

Until then, take care everyone!

New Shoes and Arrival of Bed Set Part 1

Hello everyone!

Every Friday I usually have this tutorial (basically a fancy way of saying help session) early in the morning, like around 10am. >.< Makes me wonder why I signed up for the early classes in the first place...

Anyway, last Friday, since I only have that tutorial in the morning, I don't usually have anything else to do afterward so I would just go straight home. I figure that would be a waste of time, since it usually takes me an hour to get from home to school and vice versa. So doing the next best thing that any normal girl would do, I went shopping downtown at The Bay...

What I've Been Doing for the Past Few Weeks...

Hello everyone!

Ever since school started for me two weeks ago, I felt like I was swamped in school work, which makes total sense since school is suppose to be the busiest time of the year. Hahaha! I do quite apologize for the lack of posting that I have been doing. I have been focusing hard on school, since I really wanted to get good marks (who doesn't?) along with working at my receptionist job on the side on the weekend.

Anyway, a lot of changes happened for the past few weeks, mainly in the form of purchases and my room along with other things. Here is what has happened:

Painted my nails pink

Just like it said in the title, I painted my nails a nice shade of pink! I don't usually paint my nails often, but when I do I try to use the shade that corresponds with my latest outfit as much as possible. If my nails look sloppy, that just shows that I don't really do a good job when it comes to painting my nails and I hope to get in some more practice in the future. ^^

Got a new Hello Kitty lead pencil

Now with the start of school, who wouldn't want a brand new lead pencil to jot down notes with? I definitely would, so right after I had finished class I headed straight to my local Chinatown. Unfortunately the store that I usually buy my lead pencils at closed so I had to head up to a similar store upstairs. After searching through what are basically a wall of plushies, cute phone charms, and other knickknacks, I had finally found what I was looking for. What I found interesting was that while I was looking around the store, I found out that the shop lady sells circle lenses. Imagine that! xD

Sadly, the pencils sold at this store doesn't really come in a lot of variety like the other store. :/ Most of the designs are anime in nature, which really sucks since I can only get this one (the only cute one in the whole store basically).

Just to add a quick note here, I did use the pencil several times. I guess the only complaint that I have is that the lead constantly breaks on me if I write too hard. That might be my fault though, since I do sometimes put too much pressure on the paper while writing.

Had a room renovation

A big major thanks to my mom and dad for renovating my room while I was away at school. ^^ I was so surprised too, since I wasn't even informed of the change until I arrived back home and saw my mom's drawer sitting at the top of the stairs and the mess that my was (and still is) in. I didn't take a picture of my room in the before stage, so instead here is what I drew up of my previous room layout (also known as my "floor plan" sketch).

This was what my room looked like before the renovation. Before you ask, yes, I actually did draw this by mouse. I tried to draw it according to scale, but I think some stuff might be inaccurate, such as the long table and the drawers and shelves.

Now in comparison with my new room layout, the room had obviously drastically changed. The long table is no longer there and has been dismantled along with my mom's drawer, which has been moved out. The bed has been moved to the middle from the right and two drawers have been moved to both sides of my bed, though one is a wood colour and the other is a gray colour. A table has been moved to where my mom's drawer used to be, which I now used as my new work table.  The rest stayed the same.

Note: While typing, I realized that I forgot to add a drawer onto the floor plan, which used to be right beside the closet and was near the door. The same drawer is now to the right of my bed.

Bought some more Hello Kitty things

I'm sure that you are all aware of my semi Hello Kitty obsession. So it would make total sense for a fanatic creeper to get some more things that are related to their subject of interest right? :D Now the things are still in transit, but here are what I got.

Calculator

After some heavy contemplating, I decided to get a HK calculator. I mean, if you are ever going to go into an accounting field such as me, you will definitely need a calculator. That was my poor excuse. My REAL excuse is mainly for aesthetic reasons and partially to have a calculator that I can carry everywhere while looking cute at the same time. Yes, I'm working on making everything I have *cute*. Or at least trying to anyway...

Duvet Set

With the renovations done to my room and it having a new and fresh appearance (almost), I decided to get a new bed set. It doesn't help much either that my mom decided to give me some new bed sets for my bed, which I had to reject because I wanted a certain theme with my room. >-> I won this on eBay in an auction, so I'm really excited for this to arrive in the mail! ^^ It looks so cute in the pictures!

I think those are about it. Until next time!

Mirror Mirror on the Desk, Who is Now the Frilliest?

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the very late post. I realized that I haven't been posting much of anything over the past few days. This is because for the past few days, I had been essentially ripping a bunch of paper to shreds. My desk had been collecting a bunch of junk lately and I figured that with the upcoming school year, I might as well clean it all up. Of course, the recent beauty hauls that I had made isn't helping matters, rather just adding itself to the "junk pile" that collected on top of my desk. -.- You see, before I got into the makeup/beauty craze and going to different kinds of stores to get all the makeup that is out there, I didn't have much of a vanity table. I still don't to this day, though I did find some temporary storage in the form of a small transparent drawer unit that also houses my other practical things, such as a sharpener and hole puncher.

Now with that problem solved (at least for now) along with clearly out most of the scrap papers, I can finally focus back on crafting/decorating. This time, I decided to decorate my other mirror and as hinted in the title, my desk mirror. I am pretty sure that you know who is now the frilliest though. ;)

On an unrelated note, my mom brought a huge bag of hangers back home last night. Yay for new hangers! :D These hangers are definitely better than my old hangers, which were basically made out of thin metal.

Yesstyle Haul and Review

Hello everyone!

Yesterday a package arrived, containing my sister's Yesstyle clothes and just one top that I had ordered last minute. I wasn't expecting it to arrive so fast since I had picked standard shipping, which takes around 6-15 days opposed to the express shipping of 3 days. At the time of placing an order, there was a promotion going on about free standard shipping to Canada and US with a minimum order of $70. Now I haven't ordered anything from Yesstyle in quite a while, so it was quite exciting to get the package in the morning, despite most of the clothes not being mine in the first place (weird thinking I know, but that feeling of getting a new package has rubbed off on me). I really wanted to do a review on the clothes for a while now, so I asked for permission from my sister and she agreed! She usually is picky when it comes to these things or just anything in general, so getting a simple "yes" was a miracle.

Before starting the review, to quote my sister: "all credit goes to me". (humouring her). xD

Fireworks and eBay False Eyelash Haul

Hello everyone!

Last Sunday night there were some fireworks going on outside of my house. I didn't really know what the occasion was for last week, but they were really pretty and sparkly. They were a bit far from my house, but not too far where I can't see them. Here are some of the pictures that I managed to get:

I apologize if the quality seems a bit blurry, since these photos were taken from a distance.

Anyway, onto the haul. A few days ago (two days ago to be precise), the false eyelashes that I had ordered from eBay had came in :). I had ordered ten pairs of both upper and lower eyelashes along with two eyelash glue. The first package that came in contained the upper lashes and it came in a thick brown paper-like package. There was also another package that came in that contained the eyelash glue, since I bought both from the same seller.

Both sets of eyelashes and the two eyelash glue cost around $2 each, which is pretty much a good price for a pack of eyelashes, including the glue. They are definitely cheaper than the single pairs found in local stores like Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart, which cost around $4 or even $7! Now I have seen those special bulk sales on eBay where you can buy essentially six packs of ten pairs of different styles of eyelashes for under $10, glue included and I didn't want to get those because I've noticed how dramatic some of the lashes can be. Those lashes are a bit too dramatic for my tastes ^^; (was looking for simple natural ones when starting out).

This is the box that the upper lashes came in as. When I first pulled it out of its package, the box was already a bit squished. While I was waiting for the lashes in the mail, I was expecting the box to be the standard blue and white design, but I was pleasantly surprised at the design.

Here are the lashes themselves. Even though the box got squished in transit, the lashes surprisingly made it here intact. As you can see, no broken or fallen lashes found anywhere in the box, but that might be from the support base that the lashes are glued on.

A closeup of the lashes. Apparently these lashes are style 059. ^^;

The two eyelash glue. When I had ordered just one of the glue, the product came in as two pieces. I did hear that Eye Charm glue isn't actually eyelash glue, but rather it is a special glue used to create double eyelids. I bought it anyway, since I'm pretty sure that it will work for eyelashes as well (they advertised it like that anyway >.>).

Little note from seller

The next package that came in was the ten pairs of lower lashes. The lashes came in this flimsy thin white bag-like package. I got these from a different seller.  What I found funny or ironic about the package was that it had a "fragile" sign on it, but the package isn't exactly made for fragile products. It was flimsy and thin after all.

The "fragile" sign on the package

Here is the box that the lower lashes came in as. Unlike the other box of lashes, this one didn't get squished at all, which is really surprising.

Here are the lashes themselves. For those who are interested in the style, they are style 030.

A closeup of the lashes. I'm glad that all of them made it through transit! ^^

...well almost all of them... -.-

A note from the seller
And that is my eyelash haul! ^^ Oh yeah, due to the recent huge beauty and cosmetic hauls that I had been doing lately and them accumulating in a huge pile in the corner, I need to figure out a way on storing these. I don't actually have a vanity so it will be a bit difficult, but I'm sure I'll be able to think of something. Until then, take care everyone!
