A Sight for Sore Eyes along with the Old and the New

Hello everyone!

How have you all been doing? It has been a long while since my last post, but I haven't really gotten the chance to blog ever since I had started taking spring courses. They actually go quite fast what with only lasting about 6 weeks or so, so let's just say that a ton of studying has to be done and leading me to having no life what-so-ever. Major apologies for that. Fortunately for me, I had managed to find a little bit of time in between all the studying and actually got some stuff over the month of May! Both old and new! Yes I am aware that I am "suppose" to be currently on a budget, but I figured that I deserve to get something after going on a month or so without actually buying anything. :/ Yes, a month no joke, though I suppose that having a distraction that goes by the name of school can help out a lot.

Anyway, I had first bought a cute ring from Forever 21 for around $6. It was after watching I believe The Hunger Games I think? (Which was a good movie) As you can tell from the picture, I really love the bling circling around the face of the ring along with the flower gem in the center. Really lovely and it was one of those "must haves" for me, especially if it is pink. Plus you can tell that you really love it if even your friend picked out the exact same ring for you

I then got some essence nail polish and Maybelline Masterprecise pen eyeliner for a total of $14 from Shoppers Drug Mart. I had a $10 off card last time I had made a purchase there and I wanted to use it before it expired.  The nail polish were really cheap, less than $2 for each.

A couple of days later, I got this nice 1920s style nude dress from H&M for $19.95. I really love the style and had been looking for one for a while now. However it was not really "love at first sight" when I had first seen it in the store and had been trying to decide which dress I should pick out of three dresses. Eventually I had decided on getting this one not just because of the style, but I don't have a nude dress yet. I guess now is a good time as any to get one.

There is where I had finished my old haul and took a long break from the shopping world. Of course by the time the end of May came along, I started having a feel to get back to shopping and my new haul started up. I stopped by Urban Planet after work and I found out that they were actually selling what looks to be bandeau tops for $5! I had been obsessing over bandeau tops ever since I had purchased one off of Yesstyle and had been wearing it constantly. So to actually see them in the stores and in a lace pattern no less got me straight to buying one in black and white (so they could go with everything).

Lastly, the latest purchase that I had gotten was these cute clay rose earrings for $10! After seeing how cute they were just sitting on the rack and in the colours pink, purple, and blue, I knew that I just had to get them. I had been on the hunt for some cute cheap earrings for a while now to fill up my earring hanger, and in particular I had been looking for earrings that come in a cute design along with some pastel colours to go with my hime wardrobe. I had been specifically looking for ones in pink, purple, and blue because those are the main colours that I had been using, more-so pink than the other colours naturally. Now these earrings were not on sale originally, but who cares! The design more than makes up for it and when I usually see something in the store that I love and did not buy, I usually never see them again! Might as well buy them while they are still "in bloom".

I was dressed up the day I got the earrings, so I decided to take some outfit shots. I also decided that when it comes to outfit shots, I will be taking more "detailed" shots. When it comes to outfit shots in general, I value small details like the accessories used, the hair piece, etc. I had been wondering on how to approach the concept of detail shots however. Do you think I should alter the photos to make them fit into one large photo via collage style, or do you think I should post each photo individually to keep them large enough to see the details?

A Makeup Haul

Hello everyone,

I am going to go ahead and say that I honestly don't know a lot about makeup. It got to a point where every time I make one of my (rare) trips to the cosmetic aisle of any store, I would stare at the vast amounts of foundation, eyeliner, mascara, blush, bronzer, etc. with a clueless expression on my face and rather than focusing on finding which brand I prefer or even which one I think is better drugstore quality, I instead go through each and every brand found in the store and then leave afterwards because I couldn't make up my mind. Of course I do go through reviews once in a while, but then when I get back to the cosmetic department I would forget everything that I had reviewed. It is a very irritating process and it doesn't do much in terms of my progress on becoming a himegyaru, but I won't let that stop me! I then decided to go down the "trial and error" path. When one think about it, it makes common sense since everyone's skin is different and therefore different products work for different people. So having that set in my mind, I bought some makeup to try yesterday. At first I didn't plan on buying anymore than a certain eyeshadow palette that I had been eyeing, but well... plans change...

Claires Spring Bloom Eyeshadow Palette

Colours (from left to right): White, light pink, dark pink, and brown.

Colours (from left to right): Light grey, lavender, dark grey, and black.

Location: Claires
Price: $8.00 CDN each (Buy 1 get 1 50% off promotion leads to one being $4.00 CDN), $12.00 CDN total
Thoughts: As you can tell by my previous haul post, I went to Claires before and I didn't get the palette then because I wasn't convinced (and I assumed that the makeup quality is awful) and just only got the scarf. Eventually I got both warm and cool tone colours, thanks to watching Piinkstrawberii's Princess Haul video. I get suckered into buying things too easily, especially when the packaging or the design is just too cute ><! On a serious note, I really do think that the packaging is very sweet looking and I might save these for potential storage ideas. The colours don't look bad and just like what Phiphi said, they look like gems, a cute perk. I haven't actually opened them up yet to get a feel for them, but I might do that in the form of a review post. Of course the cover and the container feels like cheap plastic, but that's to be expected when buying makeup from Claires. My mind is still skeptical about the make up quality, but it's one of those things where you have to test it to find out. Who knows, I might be surprised in the end and coming from someone who has barely any makeup experience, there is nothing to lose. It is probably good beginner makeup for me anyway. xD

Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eye Pencil Black Onyx

Location: Shoppers Drug Mart
Price: $7.99 (got it for $4.99 on sale)
Thoughts: Every hime needs to have an eyeliner and what better beginner eyeliner than the one by Covergirl, at least that's what the sales lady told me when it comes to good beginner makeup in general. ^^; I figured that since these eyeliners were on sale at the time, why not?

Almay Eye Makeup Remover

Location: Shoppers Drug Mart
Price: $7.99 (got it for $6.99 on sale)
Thoughts: My mom gave me some sample makeup a while back and I would've start practicing by now if it weren't for the lack of eye makeup remover. Hence, a trip to the drug store is in order. I ended up getting the Almay one because it is oil free and supposely made from aloe, cucumber, and green tea, making it 100% fragrance free. Actually they have two kinds: one that moisturizes and one that's oil free. I generally have oily skin most of the time so I got oil free.
That's all I got from this haul. Hopefully I will use the products often enough to get up a review. Take care!

New Makeup Bag and Glasses Order Gone Wrong

Hello everyone.

Sorry for the late post. I had been too busy lately with going to places, mainly going with family (it seems that my mom has a small peeve with staying indoors for too long). There has never been a time where I am home long enough to post something (well I guess there are those times, but they are usually so short that I would do something else other than post such as surf the web, yup I'm weird...). Anyway, onward with the post!

A few days ago, there was this special promotion going on at the Bay where basically you buy a whole lot of stuff equaling a specified amount found on the advertisement and you can pick which lovely things that you want to take home as a giveaway. In addition, the price gets lowered as well, but it is the giveaway that makes up most of it. My mom had bought three Shiseido skincare products and the lady gave her three gift bags, which she gave one of them to me:

New Bags!

Hello everyone.

Yesterday was very exciting, with lots of TV broadcasts focusing on the royal wedding between William and Kate. Everything was so wonderful and beautiful, which as a wedding (and a very famous one at that), is to be expected. I find it amazing that it is like a fairytale coming true, with a real happily ever after. I'm usually one to believe that fairy tales are real and can exist in reality, so this was "the frosting on the cake" (also a big believer in cakes) and was very exciting to watch. So a late congratulations to the couple!

Anyway, I was suppose to post this yesterday, but late night fatigue combined with a frustrated night with the camera's batteries made me tired (which took me forever with taking a few pictures). I might need to buy some new rechargeable batteries if the current ones aren't cutting it. I was also looking up tutorials on replacing my Home/Newer/Older Post links with images, but more on that later. So yesterday my mom gave me two new bags, which I didn't discover until I opened my closet door. They are not the regular bags found in any bag store/department, but are the bags that you can only get if you buy something dollars or more in cosmetics or fragrances (You: Oh no. You don't mean... Me: Yup! Makeup bags! :D).
